        * if it is not possible directly use questions "why ... / how ..."

    * read the material
  * Recite
    * try to write the material in your own words
      * for instance:
        * write a small essay about it
        * try to teach someone else
  * Review
    * review the source material and your notes
    * try to make your notes better
